Every site its own container
Websites, databases and mailboxes run separately per customer. Nobody reaches databases that are not theirs. Access per website: allow or block countries or IP networks, rate limit per visitor IP, or private after signing in to the panel only. You create databases, Hostwork.de manages the servers behind them and separates them by assignment: each website reaches only the databases assigned to it. A version change moves the database, websites using it follow.
Secrets as ENV, not plain text
Passwords live in a vault per customer and reach the PHP and Node containers as environment variables.
PHP 5.6 to 8.5, WordPress, static or Node.js
Switch the PHP version per website without downtime, start Node.js apps via package.json. WordPress from the official image (PHP 7.4 to 8.x): the core is read-only and updated nightly, everything else – wp-config.php, .htaccess, themes, plugins, uploads – lives in your own volume and stays editable; database and table prefix of your choice. Owners and admins decide which versions are offered.
Volumes, file manager, SFTP and VS Code
Attach folders as volumes to one or more sites, upload and download files and folders by drag and drop or as ZIP, with every public URL per file. SFTP per customer, edit code right in the browser.
Email on your own domain
Mailboxes, aliases and forwards per customer, DNS records (MX, SPF, DKIM) set up automatically, webmail with sign-in through the panel. Websites send through their own mail server: PHP mail() and WordPress without a plugin, Node.js via SMTP.
Own DNS, IPs as placeholders
Zones on Hostwork.de's own name server with a fixed SOA/NS template or on your own PowerDNS servers – there Hostwork.de only touches released zones and picks up changes made on the server. Type and name changes without a gap in resolution; invalid records are refused by the server before anything is stored. Public IPs appear only as placeholders in records. Let's Encrypt certificates per domain with one checkbox, pre-check and staging test.
Nightly security updates
Every night new PHP and Node images are pulled, built and rolled out container by container.
Resellers and teams
Owner, admins, resellers, customers and team members with clearly separated rights and domain quotas. Every customer account gets its own subdomain automatically (name.users.hostwork.de) – websites work without an own domain, too. Deleted accounts can be restored with everything below them for 30 days.
Containers at a glance
Status, CPU, RAM, logs and terminal per container, a network map for admins, phpMyAdmin only through the panel. Visitor statistics per website from the access log – no cookies, no tracking script. A screenshot of every website's start page each night. Saving is instant, container work runs in the background; every change is in the task log with its log, failures can be run again from there.
